Internships
Internship Offers
The SVI is urgently looking for two new collaborators in its headquarters in Brussels (please check the current status of the offer by sending an email to: [email protected]):
Seconded educational manager & Training design and moderation manager – 2020-2021 (start of the mission in September 2020 or January 2021)
Getting involved in the SVI as an intern or a volunteer on predeparture trainings for international volunteers
If you want to complete an international internship while taking part actively in the development of an association – you are welcome to apply to the SVI!
We consider international interns in the following fields:
- IT and web design,
- Coordination of international projects (outgoing),
- Team leading of voluntary camps, graphic design,
- Language clubs and teaching English as a foreign language,
- Interpreters (Eng-Fr)
Throughout your internship, your motivation and creativity will be highly valued to expand the notoriety of the SVI and promote its voluntary activities in French-speaking Europe and in the rest of the world. We can offer you a very rewarding first professional experience in the international associative sector. Also know that, during your internship, you may get to take part in international meetings.
We will undertake to fill in your internship agreement and commit to collaborate closely with your school. Should you need an accommodation, we can give you some advice to help you find one.
It is obviously possible to join our team without being an intern (=student) as we welcome with great pleasure all volunteers who want to work with us for a while, no matter their age or school level. For more information about the status of volunteers, read our voluntary agreement below and, for that of foreign interns in Belgium, read the regulation here and here.
Work environment and setting for the internship
Place of the internship: Brussels
Duration: minimum 2 months (maximum duration can be discussed individually). For interns who need a visa, the maximum duration of the internship is limited to 3 months. The internship/part of the internship can be done teleworking (depending on the type of internship).
Remuneration: None, except a 50€ compensation for local transport costs.
Living costs and accommodation are not covered by the SVI, but we can assist you in your search for a flat or a room.
Nonetheless, French people can be financed by programmes such as the Service Civique (for volunteers), the Leonardo grant (European internship), your Regional Council, etc. (see tip below).
Tip: If you do not live in Belgium, you can try to obtain a European grant to realise your internship at the SVI’s secretariat in Brussels.
