Our Accreditations
Even though it is not an end in itself, it is a great thing to know that we are officially recognised.
In 2016, The Belgian Minister for Youth, Isabelle Simonis, officially recognised the SVI as a “Youth Organisation”. This acknowledgment is the result of several-years hard work that turned a “small” volunteer-run association into an organisation that accompanies over 1000 volunteers every year and employs 9 people. In 2011, the SVI was congratulated by the city of Brussels for the quality of its civic and voluntary commitment.
In June 2015, the Belgian branch of the SVI was accredited as a coordinating and support organisation and, in 2019, as a welcoming association within the framework of the European Solidarity Corps (ESC). The French branch of the SVI was accredited in November 2017.
France SVI and Belgium SVI are both certified by the European Commission as coordinating, sending and welcoming organisations for the Erasmus+ programme.
France SVI is also certified within the framework of the French “Service Civique” (civic service).
These accreditations show that the quality of our work is officially recognised and is a guarantee of the quality of the service we provide to our members.
Through these accreditations and the financial support that comes with them, the SVI’s wish is to enable as many young people as possible to go and live an international experience without being restricted by financial obstacles.
By taking part in this programme, the SVI affirms its associative commitment to European projects.
