Language Stays – Learn Languages in Immersion
Alternative Linguistic Travels
Learning languages in immersion: English in Nepal, Russian in Trans-Siberian train, permaculture via Mandarin language? All these combinations are possible thanks to our projects, because the world is diverse and the SVI is always at the edge. We collaborate with local partners from over 70 countries and we support our members in their wish to become responsible citizens of the globe and support local communities.
With the SVI everyone can
- Take classical language courses in language schools of China, Russia, Italy, Canada, and other popular destinations.
- Learn languages via volunteering in immersive projects with local communities.
- Join a group travel with a thematic educational programme.
- Prepare for an academic year abroad by visiting your target destination before landing there for your longer stay.
We work for you both online and in our local offices in Belgium, France, Russia, and Vietnam. That’s why, no matter where you are, we’ll always be there to give you advice about what school / destination to choose according to your needs. We also support you with the organisation of your trip (how to get there, visa advice, transfer from the airport, looking for an accommodation) and with the preparation for living in a different environment.
Language Courses: English for Communication
Do you know that native teachers of English prefer to travel and teach in China, Vietnam, Latin America, Russia? Studying English in the UK is far from being the only option. You can learn English from native English-speaking teachers in Vietnam or Kenya, you can learn Spanish in Costa Rica or Mexico and you can travel with an international group and learn languages peer-to-peer.
Taking an English course during vacation will not only boost up your language proficiency but will also make you acquainted with new cultures (Russia, Nepal, China, Zambia, Mongolia, or any other country you’ve chosen) and bring you together with friends from all over the world. It will help you overcome the language barrier and gain intercultural communication skills. You’ll start noticing the difference after only two weeks.
Culture Immersion Trips
If you see foreign languages as means to discover the world: we are on the same basis. The world of tomorrow will demand new qualities: well-developed communication skills, being able to understand different accents, to make yourself understandable and apply your knowledge in real situations where you have to negotiate, convince, express happiness or disappointment, be tactful or persuasive, motivate or simply say a polite “no”.
All these skills can be acquired by cultural immersion: learning Russian in the Trans-Siberian, language village visits, study visits to local partners, etc.
Practising your German, Spanish, Russian
… or any other language is possible and accessible to all, no matter your age or your level. Write us your request and we will help you with our local contacts.
