Egitim Programlari ve Evrensel ve Kulturel Aktiviteler Dernegi was established in Sinop in 2012 for the purpose of creating and developing cultural and educational programs for the disadvantaged young people and women. We are a non-governmental and non-profit organisation. We are active in the field of ecology, contemporary art, entrepreneurship, local handicrafts, youth programs and volunteering. We provide non-formal education for the young people in our town and abroad in a multi-cultural atmosphere with youth exchanges, training courses, seminars, workshops, etc. to empower their personal, social and occupational development. We were accredited for sending and hosting for the European Voluntary Service in 2012. Since then we have been hosting and sending a lot of young people as volunteers. The volunteers who come to our organisation help menatlly and physically disabled people for their needs. We also organize student exchange programs for teens with different countries from all around the world to meet their peers and learn each other's education systems. We raise awareness on animal rights. For this reason, we provide volunteering activities with our youth and women to make products to be sold in the sales in favor of the homeless cats and dogs. We provide young volunteers for Sinopale – the International Sinop Biennial - to assist the artists and curators for their performances.
We need two volunteers for the ESC Volunteering Teams in High Priority Areas project "Sustainable Environment for the Aquatic Life - SEAL", which will be held in Sinop, Turkiye between 26 June – 3 August 2025. We need a scuba diver with CMAS level 2 or same level from PADI and an artist. With the team of scuba divers from different countries we will clean seafloor in Sinop, which is the most polluted area of the Black Sea. Artist volunteers will exhibit the waste from the sea in the public areas and also they will work on online raising awareness activities. We would like to raise awareness on the pollution of the Black Sea with our intense disseminations both physical activities and online activities.
Volunteers will live in a flat. Volunteers will share their room with another volunteer. The house is around 15 minutes away from the center by walk or they can take the bus. There is enough furniture, hot water, wi-fi, kitchen tools. The volunteer’s support for 37 days, pocket money + travel cost will be 850 Euros and the food money will be 170 Euros. In order to get to the scuba locations, we will arrange a bus.
All volunteers will learn the International Code of Signals which are the means of communication in navigation, the parts of the simple sail board, sailing terms, types of fish. The instructors from the university will give a lecture about the pollution of the Black Sea and its pathways to human health. Also all volunteers will take model boat making courses and wooden toy workshop.
