The GCC program aims at improving your understanding of different peoples and cultures, but also of ... your your own understanding of British culture, while at the same time opening your eyes onto the world and developing your communication skills.
The school gives the opportunity to add the "Global Communication & Culture" course to your program. Thanks to this program, you will study the English language by exploring a variety of topics related to cross-cultural communication: stereotypes and generalizations, cultural values, communication styles, conflict management, intercultural navigation, cross-cultural learning, British culture, etc. To do so, you will work on online resources, participate in discussions, role plays, and more. By taking this course, you will have the chance to improve your understanding of other cultures and to learn how to behave more effectively with people of other nationalities, backgrounds, and religious affiliations. This program will help you grow as a citizen of the world and develop your cross-cultural awareness skills through a blended learning program. The development of these skills is not only interesting for your personal life but also useful in the working place. You will also receive a recognized certificate that you could attach to your CV.
This program is optional and can be added to basic-English courses. Therefore, you have two options:
- Global Citizenship English: 20 hours of General English courses + 2 hours of GCC
- Global Citizenship English Intensive: 20 hours of General English courses + 2 hours of GCC + 8 hours of a chosen course (English Language Skills, IELTS Preparation Skills, FCE/CAE Cambridge Exam Skills, Business English)
Giving the current sanitarian crisis, the program combines online and in-class lessons. For the moment, the lessons are given according to the following structure: 9 interactive modules to complete online before the arrival in Cardiff, 7 interactive modules to complete in Cardiff and between 2 and 4 in-class lessons, and 2 last modules are to be completed when returning home.

You can decide to stay with a host family. All of them are rigorously selected by the school. They will be pleased to welcome you and make your experience truly immersive. ... They They will make you discover more about British culture and help you practice the English language. The school is usually located within 10 km of your host family's house and the distance to cover between the house and the school normally takes between 15 and 45 minutes.
You will be able to choose between standard and superior housing. The superior housing includes a private bathroom. In both cases, your housing will give you access to:
- your private bedroom
- bed sheets and towels
- Wi-Fi
- breakfast and dinner
- bathroom (private or shared, at your convenience)
- access to shared living areas
In a student residence (18+)
You can decide to stay in a student residence located within a 15 minutes walk of the school. The residence is very modern and is equipped with everything you would possibly need: a shared living area, a study place, a gym, a recreation room, movies, Wi-Fi, laundry, a bicycle parking, and an office reception opened 24/7. You can also decide to stay in a "superior" housing, which is a personal flat with private bathroom and kitchen.
Each type of housing includes a double bed, a shower, a toilet and a sink, some storage under the bed, a wardrobe and shelves, storage drawers, a desk and a desk chair, bed sheets, and blinds. - Price

About the language school
This school is located in Cardiff, Wales, in the United Kingdom and is the largest language school of the country. It hosts students from all around the world and up to 50 different nationalities a year. The staff and teachers are highly qualified and are ready to accompany and support you during your stay. You will be taught in small classes so that the teachers can solely focus on you. The school offers numerous programs and teaches English regardless of the students' language level (from beginner to advanced). It is also possible to create your own program by combining different courses.
All courses include: course material, English level tests, a guided tour of Cardiff, free Wi-Fi, a report on your language progress, study help and support, weekly homework, a final program report, access to the app, and a final language level certification.
Possible leisure activities
The school offers a large range of activities to students: tours of surrounding cities (London, Bristol) and a tour of Cardiff. Discover Cardiff's heritage, participate in strolls and private tours, cultural activities, sports, parties, food discovery sessions, Convesation Cafés, Sunday Socials, Ted Talks, etc. Students are generally free to organize their own activities.
About food
If you decide to stay with a host family, your criteria regarding your diet could be taken into consideration. For instance halal food diets, vegan or vegeterian diets, gluten-free diets, lactose-free and lactose intolerant diets, nut allergy and crustacean and shellfish allergies will be taken into account for an additional 15 £ fee per week.

Possible shuttle from the airport to the cities of Cardiff, Bristol, Heathrow, Gatwick, Stansted (an additional fee is to be paid).
Requirements
For 16+ students.
The student will have to pass an English language test upon arrival so as to be assigned to the appropriate class.
